Mary Pat Payne - NCLMT
Welcome to my website. I'm so happy you have found your way to me!
I became a massage therapist because of one simple belief. I believe that every person needs to be nurtured and touched with care and respect in order to thrive. Massage offers the type of physical contact that I believe is vital to every person's well-being. If you choose to come to me for a massage, I will use all my training, skill, experience and intuition to create a unique bodywork session each and every time. My goal is to create a place where you can experience a sense of harmony and balance and awaken in yourself an inner resource for healing.
I became an EFT (emotional freedom technique) practitioner for a much more personal reason. My mother was injured and in pain but could not tolerate pain medication. I had read about EFT and asked her if she wanted to try it and she did. It worked so well that once she recovered, she asked me what else we could use it for and our journey of discovery began. EFT is a form of energy work that stimulates acupuncture points on the face, upper body and head by tapping on them while focusing on a specific issue. It can be used for pain relief, the elimination of phobias, allergic reactions and cravings, reducing stress, weight loss, improving sports performance and many, many more issues. The EFT motto is to "try it on everything".
Why choose massage or EFT?
Experts estimate that as much as 90% of all disease is stress related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally or externally, than living with unrelieved levels of stress. Completely eliminating stress may be unrealistic in our fast-paced world, but we all need to find a way to shut down the fight or flight response that stress creates in us both physically and mentally. When we do that, our bodies are better able to rest, recover and heal. Massage and EFT are two great ways to reduce the physical response to stress and the emotional balance that they provide can be just as important as the more tangible physical benefits. Reducing stress can play a huge role in how healthy we'll be and how vibrant we'll remain with each passing year. Budgeting the time and money for bodywork is truly an investment in health.
I consider it an honor to be able to do the work that I do. Being asked to be part of a person's wellness journey is truly a blessing. I look forward to the time when we meet and work togehter...MP
